KARI MALEN

Yoga Instructor

Ecologist, recreationist, and lover of all things Movement related - Kari found yoga as a way to remain flexible and strong between sports seasons; she never imagined it would become the practice that stayed with her long after team sports faded away.  While living in remote corners of the world focused on conservation, it was yoga she turned to for self care, inner strength, and stability. That is when she found the so much more that yoga has to offer. And local villagers wanted to know what she was up to. So she began to teach.    Multiple teacher trainings and years of self practice later, Kari realized we as humans can't care much about the outer world when we are suffering in our own inner world. She then switched gears and now focuses her efforts on human restoration and wellness. She brings empathy, science, story, and light heartedness to her classes in an effort to help you grow and heal while having fun.    Kari’s original teacher training took place in Mysore, India under Yogacharya Barath Shetty – a disciple of B.K.S. Iyengar – in the IndeaYoga style, earning a teaching certificate in 2012. She also holds a 500 hr YTT Certificate and is YA certified.    Learn more about Kari and her offerings here: karimalen.com
